A core member of the Counseling Center's clinical team reporting to the Associate Director, the staff clinician delivers direct clinical services to a diverse client population in individual and group modalities. These services include individual psychotherapy for a caseload of regular clients, group psychotherapy, walk-in sessions, triage, crisis intervention, critical incident response, emergency evaluation, and consultation. Additional responsibilities include the provision of clinical training and supervision to externs and fellows, development and delivery of psychoeducational outreach and training programs and materials, contribution to reporting documents, participation in select campus events and meetings, and engagement in all aspects of Counseling Center operations as assigned. This position requires participation in after-hours on-call rotation, providing expert crisis consultation and care coordination by phone during student mental health emergencies.
Clinicians with established skills in CBT, DBT, ACT, and/or behavioral therapy are preferred. Clinicians with experience in acute care settings and/or university mental health settings are preferred.
Responsibilities:
- To provide clinical services including individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy, walk-in sessions, triage, crisis intervention, critical incident response, emergency evaluation, and consultation.
- To develop and deliver psychoeducational programs and materials, both within the Center and to campus constituencies as assigned.
- To provide clinical training and supervision to externs and fellows.
- To document all clinical activities in a clear and timely fashion; to participate in weekly meetings such as case conference, didactics, staff and outreach meetings.
- To contribute to policy and reporting documents as assigned.
- To serve on university committees, task forces, and other work groups as needed, and to participate in designated campus events, such as Open Houses, First-Year Orientation, Commencement, Accepted Students Days, Move-In Day, Divisional retreats and professional development sessions.
- To perform additional duties to be assigned by Counseling Center leadership team as deemed necessary.
