The ADP Program Overview


The Actuarial Development Program (ADP) at Lincoln Financial Group is an industry-leading program that demonstrates Lincoln Financial’ s commitment to creating highly qualified business leaders.  As an ADP participant, you’ll be able to explore your unique interests while developing the essential actuarial, technical, management, communication, and leadership skills you need to succeed. The Actuarial Development Program includes a series of rotations, typically every 18-24 months. For each rotation, roles are available in different business areas including Life and Annuities, Retirement and Group Protection. Experience gained will enable participants to become well-rounded actuaries with knowledge that may include Product Development, Pricing, Valuation, Modeling, Risk Management, Asset Liability Management, Investments, Data Analytics, and Internal Audit.
ADP participants are expected to pass the Society of Actuaries’ exams at a prescribed pace. The program is designed to support you as you work towards your FSA and provide the training and resources necessary to become a well-rounded actuarial leader.

As an Associate Actuary, you will support the Corporate Chief Actuary in managing key strategic and execution risks for the Office of the Chief Actuary.  Key focus areas would include:


Actuarial Controls
•    Oversee and support the assembly of the policy level recalculation and validation packages.
•    Review team dashboards of controls, identifying and coordinating support for any controls at risk.
•    Track execution status and produce quarterly updates for senior management.
 

Strategic Initiatives
•    Support actuarial leaders in developing Cost Benefit Analysis summaries for strategic initiatives requiring additional funding.
•    Support the Corporate Chief Actuary in planning and managing the expenses of both the Chief Actuary budget as well as all actuarial and FP&A transformation workstreams.
 

Annual Statement
•    Consolidate content produced by the valuation teams to produce key annual statement items, such as Exhibit 5 and the New York Supplement.
 

Data Management
���    Serve as supplemental support for pre- and post-model processing of AAT and ALM data, using Dataiku and Tableau.
 

Special Projects
•    Support the Corporate Chief Actuary with a wide range of special projects related to corporate finance, regulatory compliance, capital management, and actuarial talent development.

What you'll be doing

What we’re looking for

  • 3-6+ years of experience in actuarial science
  • Typically ASA designation, progressing towards FSA designation
  • Driven, motivated and resourceful problem-solvers with critical thinking skills who are eager to learn, are coachable and committed to meeting deadlines and working in a team environment.
  • Experience in valuation or auditing is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Dataiku or something similar (Alteryx) is a plus.
