ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:

Hiring Range: $108,000 - $123,000

The Senior Data Analyst (Eligibility & Recovery) will leverage their strong knowledge of healthcare eligibility, healthcare claims, and medical terminology to effectively support new client implementations and existing programs with data analysis and identification of business rules required to maximize usage of data from clients, and other sources. This role will require an individual to function as a liaison between Engineering and other business units
 

Key Responsibilities to include:

  • Review and analyze data to identify trends, patterns and identify impact across various products.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure data is properly ingested before and after client implementations.

  • Document all necessary business requirements and work with technical leaders to ensure proper data integration.

  • Participate in mentoring/training other Analysts on the team.

  • Identifies and communicates opportunities to enhance the usage of data to support business current and future initiatives.

  • Conducts a variety of data analysis for intelligent insights using subject matter knowledge, independent judgement, and analytical expertise.

  • Develops custom queries and reporting, conducts research, analyzes trends and activities, and presents data and findings based upon business needs and as need to identify opportunities, root causes of issues and to support business decisions and strategies.

  • Creates and maintains dashboards for key stakeholders.

  • Assists with development of concepts for product and business enhancements.

  • Responsible for utilizing resources to ensure compliance with client requirements, HIPAA, as well as applicable federal or state regulations.

  • Participate in continuing technical education and training, including new data platforms and visualization tools.

  • Demonstrates Performant core values in performance of job duties and all interactions.

  • Correct areas of deficiency and oversight received from quality reviews and/or management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Needed:

  • Critical thinking skills with the ability to quickly identify and develop solutions.

  • Strong experience working with large volumes of health care eligibility and claims data, including medical claims analysis.

  • Expert level skills in SQL and query optimization.

  • Demonstrated experience and ability for validating and testing large data sets.

  • Knowledge of Medicaid / Medicare / Other TPL business models and products.

  • Advanced knowledge of ETL processing and data modeling.

  • Robust system skills with ability to quickly develop expertise in new systems and applications.

  • Advanced skills in Excel, Access, and/or other data analysis applications.

  • Advanced experience with data visualization tools.

  • Knowledge of X12 EDI Transactions, including, but not limited to 270/271, 834, 277, 837, 835.

  • Professional verbal and written communication with good presentation skills.

  • Able to work independently and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

  • Strong problem solving and communication (written and oral) skills.

  • Ability to produce results and maintain positive attitude in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Initiative-taking and thrives in a fast-paced business operations department performing multiple tasks cohesively, with keen attention to detail.


Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.  At minimum, a high school diploma is required.

  • 7+ years relevant experience working with healthcare data.
