Overall Purpose: The role of a Principal Supply Chain Planning (Mobility Accessories) optimizes supply chain operations by managing inventory planning, materials management, and logistics processes to ensure efficient and cost-effective transportation and distribution of goods. This position requires a combination of technical proficiency, analytical skills, and effective communication to manage and optimize inventory levels and ensure operational efficiency.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Strategic Planning and Forecasting: Develop and implement strategic supply chain plans, including demand and supply forecasting, to optimize inventory levels and ensure efficient operations.
• Data Analytics and Reporting: Conduct comprehensive data analysis to identify trends and inefficiencies, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights for decision-making.
• Inventory and Supplier Management: Manage inventory levels, oversee purchase orders, and build strong supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery and address performance issues.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with supply planners, DC logistics, finance, and product marketing to align logistics strategies with organizational goals and ensure smooth supply chain operations. Align interpretations and recommendations with the team through collaborative data analysis.
• Training and Process Improvement: Provide training and mentorship to team members, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement best practices to enhance supply chain efficiency.
Job Contribution: An expert in their field, applying broad business knowledge and strategic insight surrounding emerging trends and technologies to solve complex problems and drive organizational results. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 7+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
Qualifications:
- Analytical Skills:
- Ability to review historical sales trends, research demand drivers, and resolve issues swiftly.
- Experience in reconciling Service Level and Days on Hand results to targets and recommending process changes to optimize outcomes.
- Communication Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to create PowerPoint presentations that clearly articulate Operational KPIs, key callouts, and service level recovery expectations.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, Finance) and external clients.
- Ability to provide executive recommendations based on cross-functional consensus and key inputs during weekly operational reviews.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency or ability to quickly learn data acquisition tools such as Power BI, COOL, Oracle, Blue Yonder, Relex, o9, Access, Excel, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
- Experience in using ERP Planning Systems to manage and operate inventory across multiple locations and SKUs.
- Proficient in MS office suite (Excel, Access, Word). Demonstrated ability to analyze large data sets; familiarity with advanced Excel techniques like Xlookup, Pivot Tables, and Index Match.
- Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in Supply Chain supporting complex replenishment models and large-scale inventory models.
- Experience managing $100M+ inventories with rapid SKU transitions and lifecycles.
- Understanding of Distribution Center-based supply chains.
- Education and Certifications:
- Preferred Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics. An MBA is a plus.
- Preferred but not required certifications: APICS, IBF, CPIM, CSCP, CPF, CIFP, IIF, ACFP, CFP, CPSM.
