WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Director, Alumni Talent Development, is a member of Teach For America’s South Carolina Regional Impact Team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading TFASC alumni educator fellowships and other alumni-facing initiatives, programs, and outreach. Specifically, you will design, strategize, and execute on the scope and growth of our alumni educator fellowships aligned to program goals, including increased teacher retention and an increased number of TFA alumni in education leadership roles. You will work closely with other team members to support recruitment for all alumni-facing fellowships, initiatives, and programs, synthesize an effective alumni communications strategy, and cultivate and develop relationships with alumni in support of regional goals and priorities.
WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Program Design and Execution (40%)
Leads strategy and design of alumni educator fellowships, aligned to programmatic and regional goals
Designs and leads all-track fellowship sessions, including program onboarding
Develops relationships with program fellows by responding to program feedback, supporting fellows through program tracks, and holding regular check-in calls in support of fellow development and satisfaction
Stewards relationships with external program stakeholders, including university partners and vendors for fellowship professional development
Tracks programmatic data and proactively shares quantitative and qualitative findings with the wider team
Manages the school district placement strategy and process for all fellows
Alumni Support (40%)
Support second-year corps members during their transition to alumnihood
Design and execute talent matching and alumni career acceleration in mission-aligned roles
In partnership with other team members, help drive the recruitment of alumni educators into TFA SC fellowships specifically
Develop relationships with district partners to create a pipeline for alumni leadership and to retain and recruit alumni educators to South Carolina
Directly plan and execute engagement strategies for alumni (social events, survey completion, etc.)
Support alumni engagement efforts related to TFA’s 35th anniversary, TFASC’s 15th anniversary, and ongoing networking opportunities and events
10%: Recruitment
Support the region’s teacher recruitment goals by attending several in-person career fairs each year.
Participate in all-team recruitment activities as needed throughout the year.

Support and participate in regional events
Attend and participate in team staff meetings, retreats, and other all-team engagements.
Drive own professional development with support from manager and others to include mandatory PD requirements of the region.
Engage in community opportunities that have personal meaning/connection.
Understand and effectively communicate Teach For America-South Carolina’s programmatic initiatives, goals, and impact externally and internally.
Will operate flexibly to lend skills and capacity to meet the needs of emerging projects or priorities as they arise.
A WEEK IN THE LIFE
Over the course of any week, the Director, Alumni Talent Development, will spend time designing our alumni educator fellowship and alumni-facing initiatives. You will meet 1:1 with fellows to facilitate feedback and provide professional coaching support, use data to refine programmatic offerings, and meet with potential partners to grow and develop the fellowship’s three tracks. You will work with your teammates to develop alumni communications, facilitate relationship development with key alumni, and meet with district partners to understand potential leadership opportunities for TFA alumni. You may also host an in-person alumni event in South Carolina, or attend a virtual learning space for TFA staff working in alumni-facing roles. Sometimes you may even lean in and use your talents to support work such as other regional events, corps member interviews, and more.
