About the role

The Impact You'll Make

The Operational Technology Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting the technology, security, and process governance within the OT environment at the Talus Manufacturing plant. The focus of this role is to provide effective OT solutions to maintain manufacturing production targets for the facility. This position will maintain the systems within the manufacturing environment (network services, computer systems, file storage services, IoT, Azure Cloud, etc.) by executing and monitoring the overall delivery, reliability, and performance of the systems. The successful candidate will collaborate and innovate with stakeholders and global team members to develop and implement secure technology solutions in support of the plant’s manufacturing efforts. 

What You'll Do

  • Model the Lam core values.
  • Collaborate with global manufacturing OT peers and global GIS teams.
  • Attend manufacturing staff meetings to understand business priorities and maintain effective communication channels.
  • Ensures GIS approved projects and directives in support of business requirements are implemented on time, track and report progress as required, and escalate to management when customer expectations cannot be met.
  • Participate in GIS projects to test, pilot, and/or implement new hardware and software in support of Manufacturing Fab activity\requirements.
  • Deliver sustainable and repeatable solutions related to process, network, and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Develop, write, and publish processes, procedures, and technical diagrams to ensure consistent global practices relevant to today’s business and organization; ensure materials and documents are up-to-date and easy to access.
  • Ensure compliance to Lam manufacturing security policies and procedures and report related non-compliance to supervisors.
  • Management/support of all computer & network equipment in the manufacturing infrastructure
  • Utilize approved procedures to ensure that hardware and software are deployed, implemented, and supported per business requirements and aligned to company standards/policies.

What You'll Do Continued

  • Comply with Lam’s ITAM processes and procedures.
  • Administer, apply, and maintain appropriate revisions, patches, backups, and restoration to production environment, business applications, production systems and network infrastructure.
  • Provide 1st-level and 2nd-level support.
  • Act as a point of contact for IT services and escalations.
  • Participate in established on-call rotation if required to support business operations schedule.
  • Utilize GIS Change Control model when applicable to document overall status of the Manufacturing environment, including Asset Management\Tracking; Align to Corporate Change Control Board and Vendor\Supplier requirements as necessary.
  • Maintain technical skills in areas of specialty.
  • Other duties and functions as assigned.

Who We're Looking For

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related area, 3 plus years equivalent experience in systems administration
  • Excellent communication skills that facilitate productivity and collaboration among Lam manufacturing, GIS and other Lam support organizations, and outside OT/IT vendors
  • Demonstrated safety focus.
  • Consistent self-starter requiring minimal direction.
  • Ability to follow Corporate and GIS policies.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as moving and lifting computer and other equipment as required.
  • Strong customer service ethic and ability to collaborate in a team as well as cross functionally.
  • Ability to prioritize and have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexibility to travel between Fremont and Livermore

Preferred Qualifications

  • Operating System\Platform Support
  • Prior experience working in manufacturing fab environments is a strong plus.
  • Hands-on experience managing connectivity infrastructure (including remote) and services.
  • Experience with end-to-end connectivity troubleshooting and resolving end-user connectivity issues.
  • Understanding of multiple technologies and protocols from networking, servers to storage, cloud, IoT, robotics, RFID, VR/AR technologies, Zebra Guns/Printers
  • Understanding of Security Infrastructure best practices
