As a Closer, you will work to manage various documents and files throughout the settlement process and provide an amazing experience for buyers, sellers, and attorneys at the closing table. This is a hybrid position, working from home, within the West Loop office, and conducting on-site closings. All equipment will be provided, and training will be conducted remotely.

The Role:

  • Attends and manages real estate closings

  • Responsible for ensuring that all closing instructions are being followed; making sure all funds have been received and are good funds, confirms proposed disbursements match the settlement statement; the file is balanced.

  • Prepares miscellaneous documents required at closing, including revising and resubmitting figures if revisions are needed at table.

  • Ensures closing package is properly executed, all names and legal descriptions are shown correctly on all documents but especially the mortgages notes and deeds.

  • Reviews title commitment and is responsible for securing title clearance documents (transfer stamps, invoices, payoff statements, surveys, HOA letters, final utility bills, etc.)

  • Reviews mortgage payoffs for accuracy and transmits payoff funds

  • Acts as the liaison between attorney and lenders at closing

  • Responsible for ensuring that all documents are recorded timely, lien payoffs completed, and lender package sent to lender as applicable.

  • Handles any post-closing items necessary to cure the file; checks and balances, holdbacks, recording corrections

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills along with a positive, “can-do” attitude.

  • 1-3+ years experience closing residential real estate transactions

  • Attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Extremely comfortable working with numbers and troubleshooting to balance a bottom line.

  • A Multi-tasker: You are able to work with multi-tasking skills and prioritization in a constantly changing environment.

  • Detail-oriented: You are the one that finds a needle in a haystack.

  • Tech-Savvy: You’re comfortable with technology and learn new programs quickly.

The compensation information below is provided in compliance with all applicable disclosure requirements.

Base Pay Range: $30.60 - 45.90. Actual base pay will depend on varying circumstances, including the position, location, individual qualifications, market finances, and other operational business needs. Compensation may also include bonuses and equity.
