TITLE: Chemist
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Responsible for analysis of competitive film for purposes of reverse engineering, as well as testing of IEF films for specification development and troubleshooting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of analytical and physical testing for polymer films.
• Strong communication skills to work with both internal and external customers.
• Energy, enthusiasm and strong work ethic.
• Able to prioritize and manage multiple competing activities
• Legal eligibility to work in the US
• Ability to speak, read, and write in English
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with all levels of personnel
• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary such as overtime and weekends.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Operational knowledge of analytical equipment including DSC and FTIR microscopy and gas permeation, as well as other techniques such as TGA, DMA, etc.
• Operational knowledge of typical physical testing equipment associated with flexible films, including tensile, Elmendorf tear, COF, dart impact, etc.
• Understanding of flexible film properties sufficient to develop a test plan to best identify structure design for purposes of reverse engineering and troubleshoot.
• Ability to prepare professional reports suitable for customer review.
• Assist in specifications and review of new or upgraded lab equipment.
