Electrical Engineering Intern

Base Pay Range: $24.00 - $40.00 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.

Group/Division

With over 40 years of semiconductor process control experience, chipmakers around the globe rely on KLA to ensure that their fabs ramp next-generation devices to volume production quickly and cost-effectively. Enabling the movement towards advanced chip design, KLA's Global Products Group (GPG), which is responsible for creating all of KLA’s metrology and inspection products, is looking for the best and the brightest research scientist, software engineers, application development engineers, and senior product technology process engineers. Central Engineering is KLA's largest engineering organization comprised of 9 Centers-of-Excellence (CoE) in various disciplines applied across all product groups in the company. These CoE include Handling & Automation, Precision Motion Control, Sensors & Image Acquisition, Platform Design, and Packaging Engineering, among others. Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Job Description/Responsibilities

At KLA, we are looking for high-energy interns for several exciting projects this coming summer in our Ann Arbor, Michigan location! This position provides a phenomenal opportunity to perform hands-on work on KLA’s semiconductor inspection tools and contribute to the development of components and tooling that we integrate into KLA's instruments. A self-motivated individual in this role will work in a team with other interns and engineers on a specific aspect of a larger project.

You'll have opportunities for:

• Programming in LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or Verilog, either on a PC or embedded software on ARM microcontrollers.
• Designing and building control systems with motors and position sensors
• Creating analog and digital hardware and software to process digital and analog I/O data to make a system more intelligent
• Designing circuits with CAD tools, such as OrCAD or Cadence
• Implementing FPGAs with Vivado
