Overnight Foot Patrol Security Guard - Peterborough ON

If you are seeking a job where no two days are the same and have the opportunity to work in a beautiful picturesque setting - this one is for you! As a Security Guard on foot patrol, you will work to ensure the safety of key facilities in an area along Peterborough's beautiful waterfront. Guards will patrol multiple areas to enforce rules and regulations, act as a visual deterrence to unwanted behaviour and complete lock-ups as required. This is an overnight position with shifts from 2000-0800 on a continental rotation.  

Successful applicants will be able to patrol on foot and stand for long periods of time (with break opportunities), be comfortable working at night independently and have exemplary verbal and written communication skills. 

Pay Rate: $20.00/Hour

Night continental rotation, shifts 2000-0800

What does a Guard in Peterborough do?

• Patrolling in a variety of settings 

• Enforcing property rules, city by-laws, and other applicable regulations

• Deterring unwanted and antisocial behaviour

• Responding to incidents on properties and acting as a liaison with emergency services 

• Completing lock-ups of facilities 

• Assisting area mobile supervisor as needed

• Writing detailed and complete incident reports and patrol logs

Qualifications to become a Security Guard in Peterborough

• A valid security guard license and first aid card 

• Have a clear criminal background and driving record 

• Demonstrated excellent verbal and written English communication skills

• Previous experience with a reputable security company 

• NVCI or Verbal intervention training an asset

• Knowledge of water safety and basic swimming skills

• Be eligible to work in Canada
