Diagnostic Medical Sonography - Lab Assistant (part-time)

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Lab Assistant is responsible for assisting the Program Director and program Instructors, within a lab setting, in preparing students to perform the various sonography scans and techniques called upon in the field of sonography.

Assist DMS faculty with lab duties in the concentrations of abdominal, OB/GYN, and vascular sonography. Assist students with anatomy understanding and recognition, scanning techniques, patient prep/positioning, image optimization, and overall scanning efficiency. Supervise open lab sessions with mixed skill levels present.

• Provide lab remediation or tutoring. Promote professionalism and team work.
• Provide feedback for continuous program improvement.
• Support the mission and goals of Keiser University.
• Will complete and or participate in any other activities/tasks as assigned by the Program Director and/or Dean.
• Maintain and keep records of all lab supplies.
• Enforce policies outlined in the DMS Student Handbook.
• Enforce infection control standards in the lab.
