We are excited to welcome a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Product Quality Engineer to our Operations Quality Assurance team in Tucson, Arizona. In this role, you will ensure our aerospace products meet top quality standards while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. You'll collaborate with various teams to identify and resolve quality issues, drive improvements, and maintain compliance with industry regulations. As an Operations Quality Engineer at Raytheon, you will play a key role in upholding our reputation for excellent product performance and reliability.

What YOU Will Do:

  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to interpret engineering drawings and ensure accurate inspections.
  • Conduct AS9102 First Article Inspections (FAI)
  • Ensure manufacturing processes and product builds comply with Quality and Engineering requirements.
  • Provide audit support.
  • Drive problem-solving projects and challenge the status quo through root cause and corrective action investigations.
  • Regularly generate, publish, and present Quality metrics.
  • Lead and drive alignment with quality and manufacturing engineers, program engineers, engineering management, operations, and shop floor personnel.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for quality, efficiency, and cost.
  • Ensure projects and process control documentation comply with requirements, objectives, and contracts.
  • Collaborate with team members, customers, and suppliers in a team environment.
  • Read, write, and understand work instructions.
  • Utilize APQP methodology to manage the quality-production process.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 2 years of engineering experience, including quality engineering or manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings.
  • Experience using root cause and corrective action tools.
  • Previous experience using quality tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, cause/effect diagrams, process mapping).
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issues security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience working with composite materials.
  • Basic knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing GD&T.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and action plan execution capabilities.
  • Ability to resolve high-complexity problems using structured techniques.
  • Experience creating and performing holistic containment plans following a noncompliance event (Escape).
  • Experience conducting and completing First Article Inspe
