We’re continuing to build our in-house underwriting team at Octopus Electric Vehicles. The focus is currently on assessing B2B credit risk for our business contract hire and salary sacrifice products, but also includes consumer credit assessments.
We’re creating a new set of policies, processes and tech tools to efficiently and accurately assess credit risk. To help us do that, we’re hiring an Underwriting Support Specialist to support the wider Underwriting team.
Our goal is to become an industry leader in our ability to provide quick credit line decisions to both B2B and consumer clients. We will build and invest in best in class technology and datasets to help you achieve that goal.

What you'll do
- Support in governance of credit portfolio to ensure controls are in place and compliant to credit policy
- Support in management of Credit team inboxes
- Triage credit related queries that come to the team, such as credit uplifts, credit blocks, credit renewals and third party queries
- Support with management of third parties and providing required information to support with underwriting and credit renewals
What you'll need
- Willingness to get hands on with administrative tasks to support the Credit Underwriting team
- Ability to manage mailboxes and liaise with internal teams and third parties
- Experience working in a hands-on Credit or Financial Administrator role would be an advantage
- Knowledge of credit policies would be beneficial
- Experience in vehicle leasing would be an advantage but not essential
