What you will be doing as a Lead Sheet Metal Technician:

In this role, you can expect to fabricate, assemble, and repair precision sheet metal components that keep general aviation aircraft flight‑ready. You’ll work hands-on with advanced tools and equipment—cutting, forming, welding, and finishing metal parts—while taking pride in craftsmanship, quality, and safety on every build.

Your responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):

·        Blueprint‑Driven Build Execution: Interpret blueprints, drawings, and verbal instructions to plan scope, sequences, methods, and materials, ensuring precision and alignment with project requirements

·        Precision Sheet Metal Fabrication: Lay out, alter, bend, and form sheet metal parts using approved techniques to achieve exact fit, form, and function

·        Drilling, Countersinking, and Dimpling: Prepare holes across various metals through accurate drilling, deburring, countersinking, and dimpling to support high‑quality fastener installation

·        Advanced Riveting and Fastening: Install solid and blind rivets using rivet guns, squeeze tools, and specialty fasteners to ensure structural integrity and consistency

·        Component Removal and Rework: Remove rivets and sheet metal components as needed to support modifications, repairs, and final configuration requirements

·        Aircraft Safety and Quality Standards: Execute all work to the highest airworthiness, safety, and reliability standards, contributing directly to customer and flight safety

Qualifications

 

What you need to be successful:

·             Required education and experience:

·        A high school diploma, an equivalent certificate, or bronze level WorkKeys certification is required

·        A minimum 2 years of diversified aviation sheet metal experience is required

·        Other qualifications:

·        Aircraft Structures & FAA Standards: Working knowledge of aircraft structural repair manuals and FAA AC 43.13‑1B

·        Corrosion Identification & Treatment: Ability to identify corrosion types and perform approved corrosion removal procedures
