About the role

JOB SUMMARY 

  • Assists Manager in coordinating activities of Business Office Staff to effectively improve hospital cash flow by maintaining an efficient revenue cycle.
  • Compiles statistical reports and analysis and provides to various leaders.
  • Initiates ideas and suggestions for work procedures, keeps time and attendance records, and expedites work flow.
  • Works with Manager to assign duties and examines work for exactness, neatness, and performance to policies and procedures.
  • Works with outside collection agencies to assign accounts and recall accounts when necessary.

Education

  • High School Diploma and some college.

Experience

  • 5 years hospital business office.
  • Knowledge of JCAHO and state regulations for both acute and skilled nursing facilities.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to work with physicians in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
  • Prefer additional languages.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

  • High school diploma or the equivalent
  • 1-2 years supervisory experience in a medical billing environment preferred
  • Previous experience with medical billing systems required, GE Centricity, EPIC or Next Gen preferred
  • EPIC claims certification a plus
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Visio preferred
