CLINICIAL SPEECH PATHO LOGIST DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES• Independently maintains a clinical c aseload in designated clinicalcluster area• Provides evidence based eval uation and treatment to diverse, medicallychallenging patient population s• Provides quality service delivery techniques that facilitate optimums ervices to meet patient needs being sensitive to patient’s age, social,c ultural, educational and vocational background.• Provides appropriate wr itten and/or verbal education on communicationand/or swallowing disorder s to patients, families, and professionals• Completes required documenta tion accurately and within the designatedtime frame which may include re port writing, billing, and/ orprofessional education database• Works col laboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team as well aswith Division colleagues to promote best patient care standards• Participates in the peer review process• Participates in performance improvement initiatives within assignedwork area under thesupervision of Clinical Coordinator• Takes initiative to remain current in clinical practice throughlectures , literature, and other educational opportunities• Organizes daily sched ule to prioritize responsibilities including theintegration of meetings,responsibilities, or tasks into schedulewithout negative impact on pati ent care or productivity• Maintains confidentiality pertaining to patien t care and all Divisionpolicies and procedures• Keeps Clinical Coordinat or informed of activities, problems,and/oraccomplishments• Functions in a self-directed manner and takes ownership to manage selfand work inclu ding responsibility for actions and accountability forresults• Maintains professional demeanor and is responsible for quality care inall interac tions• Responds promptly to communication (e.g., e-mail, pages and phone messages)• Uses technology (e.g., computer skills) to meet job requireme nts• Maintains productivity standards• Completes clinical privileges con sistent with job responsibilities andpersonal development plan• Performs duties/ tasks/ assignments as directed to support Divisiongoals or need s• Meets all PEP expectations and follows all Division policies andproce dures• Meets and adheres to ASHA, state licensure board and Division cli nicalpractice guidelinesSENIOR CLINICIAN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIn a ddition to all duties and responsibilities of a Clinical SpeechPathologi st, a Senior Clinician is also responsible for the following:• Creates a direct impact/change on clinical practice based on currentliterature, c onference-based knowledge, and/or state of the art practiceunder the dir ection of Clinical Coordinator• Serves as a clinical resource to colleag ues and other medicalprofessionals• Assists the Clinical Coordinator in building collaborativerelationships and teamwork between colleagues and other professionalstaff within and external to DUHS• Provides educationa l opportunities relevant to clinical practice whichmay include inservice s, external presentations, lunch and learn, orsupport groups with the in put of the Clinical Coordinator• Obtains specialized training or certifi cation
