The Assistive Technology (AT) Assistant reports to the Associate Vice President of Systems and Compliance. The AT Assistant provides comprehensive assistive technology assessments to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and assists with the overall administrative aspect of the position. This is a part time position and will be compensated on an hourly basis.
Part Time: Monday-Friday 8a-2p (flexible)
Pay Rate: $25.00/hour
Sign on Bonus: $1,000!!
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct Assistive Technology assessments and develop plans for the effective use of AT
- Assist with facilitating AT equipment loans and demonstrations
- Research and design AT Assessment Tools and Outcome Measurement Tools
- Develop and implement Assistive Technology training as necessary, within scope of practice
- Inventory equipment and keep all devices current with latest software
- Keep current on latest technology innovation in software, hardware and related use
- Maintain confidentiality and positive demeanor while successfully managing multiple priorities
- Extensive experience with the operation, staging and adaptation of assistive technology devices, including Android, iPad, PC and Apple platforms is required.
- Computer literacy/proficiency, including experience working within electronic health records (EHRs).
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Complete and maintain all required trainings, certifications, and/or licenses.
- Strong understanding of human rights, self-determination and individualized treatment planning.
Requirements
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in special education or rehabilitation science, preferred (May be substituted with a combination of assistive technology-related training and/or supervised work experience in assistive technology or related fields including occupational therapy, speech language therapy, physical therapy, rehabilitation counseling)
- Assistive Technology Professional Certification highly preferred. Qualified candidates who do not hold ATP Certification will be supported to earn certification.
- Must be 21+ years old, have a High School Diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, daily use of a car on site and be available by phone for daily contact.
