Forklift Operator Morning Shift

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (EXPEDITE THE MOVEMENT OF MERCHANDISE AND MATERIAL BY DRIVING A FORKLIFT, USING A PALLET JACK, DOLLIES, OR OTHER MECHANICAL DEVICES - REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS MAY BE MADE TO ENABLE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES TO PERFORM THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB)

Schedule:

Morning Shift: Monday - Friday (6:00am - 2:30pm) $13.00 per hour

Unload trucks and storing merchandise in appropriate bin

• Loading trucks with merchandise to be sent to store locations
• Staging pallets to be loaded
• Moving merchandise to and from processing areas
• Keep warehouse neat and orderly
• Keep forklift aisles free of debris and identifying potential safety hazards
• Sorting through transfer trailers
• Moving merchandise to open top containers
• Read inventory reports, load sheets, pallet tickets or other similar items to determine type and quantity of merchandise to be moved and processed at a certain location
• Confer with department supervisors and facility management to determine what merchandise are to be moved and processed at the facility
• Complete material handling equipment inspection sheet to ensure that equipment is safe and operable for the daily assignment if applicable
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervision
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and work stations neat; Sweep and dust work area. Organize warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
• Wear the proper safety equipment
• Abide by all OSHA regulations learned during CCM Certification Safety Exam

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Must be able to pass CCM forklift certification test
• Must be able to operate inventory scanner
• The ability to read load sheets
• The ability to exercise sound judgment.
• Adhere to all safety policy and procedures
• Ability to work a flexible schedule (until work is done), including nights, weekend, and holidays.

Work Hours and Benefits:

• Full Time position located in Hattiesburg, MS; must be able to work in Warehouse environment each day

Requirements

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must have ability to stand, or sit, for extended periods (entire shift) and to move and handle boxes of merchandise and fixtures.
• Ability to bend and twist frequently
• Ability to squat, kneel, and balance

WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Routinely work near moving mechanical parts such as vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, dollies or similar mechanical devices
• Willing to work in hot and cold conditions
• Moderate to loud noise levels

Morning Shift: $13/hourly
