Under the general supervision of the Chief Radiation Therapy Technologist, key responsibilities include patient scheduling and appointment management, performing dose calculations, and entering treatment data. The role also involves collaborating with physicians, physicists, and dosimetrists to perform simulations and treatment planning CTs, administering ionizing radiation per the physician's prescription, and providing basic nursing care.


This is a limited position.Ā 


Salary: $61.60 - $81.28 huorlyĀ 

Job Qualifications

Required:
  • ARRT License
  • CRT License
  • BLS/CPR from American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Skill in working with different types of treatment machines such as MR Scanner, CT Scanner, HDR units and Linear Accelerators and ability to recognize when hazardous conditions may exist.
  • Ability to lift cerrobend blocks weighing up to 35 pounds.
  • Knowledge of basic physics as applicable to Radiation Therapy.
  • Ability to use an electronic calculator to perform dose calculations.
  • Skill in communicating various technical aspects of Radiation Therapy at a level understood by patients.
  • Knowledge of a variety of treatment techniques to assist physicians in treatment planning to ensure optimum treatment is given to all patients.
  • Skill in recognizing and reporting any adverse patient therapy reactions.
  • Knowledge of the principles and applications of thermo-luminescent dosimeters.
  • Skill in reading documents written with medical terminology and ability to read and implement computer-generated physics treatment plans.
  • Knowledge of basic nursing procedures.
