Job Summary

Candidate will support the Accounting team. Duties and projects will span A/P and A/R, and month-end close with various ad-hoc tasks as needed including month-end close while adhering to proper internal controls and processes.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

This position has responsibility for:

  • Sort and process mail, including scanning, shredding while ensuring that end-user has support to properly record in ERP system
  • Assist A/P and A/R with data entry as needed
  • Support planning activity by researching data, building reports and displaying results
  • Assist with monthly reporting and variance analysis
  • Work cross-functionally to provide analytical support to various teams across the business
  • Assist in drafting journal entries as needed
  • Review bank reconciliations and support accounting team to identify variances
  • Assist in preparing balance sheet reconciliations
  • Other ad-hoc projects and schedules as needed

Minimum Qualifications (Experience and Skills)

  • Basic understanding of debits and credits
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS Power Point
  • Knowledge of Concept of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands on accounting experience; preferably with balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry preparation and support
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with others throughout the organization
  • Strength in documentation, clarity, and completeness, and able to interpret and communicate
  • Cooperative team membet with a strong sense of urgency to meet requirements on schedule
  • Willingness to go beyond what is required including occasional overtime during close periods

 

Education Requirements

  • Currently working towards a B.S. in Accounting, Economics, Finance or Business

 

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
