The Global Manufacturing Planning (GMP) Sr. Project Controls Engineer supports the development and deployment of project control processes, methodologies, systems, and tools to facilitate the management and execution of Lucid’s global manufacturing expansion. This individual will collaborate with cross functional teams such as; Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, IT, Finance and others to ensure development and implementation of project controls execution plans, estimates, schedules, cost forecasts and change management of major capital projects.
The Global Manufacturing Planning (GMP) Sr. Project Controls Engineer supports the development and deployment of project control processes, methodologies, systems, and tools to facilitate the management and execution of Lucid’s global manufacturing expansion. This individual will collaborate with cross functional teams such as; Program Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, IT, Finance and others to ensure development and implementation of project controls execution plans, estimates, schedules, cost forecasts and change management of major capital projects.
You Will:
- Oversees project controls and contractor project controls services through implementation and management of project controls systems and processes.
- Assists in development and deployment of standardized project control processes, systems, and tools to improve project execution and forecast accuracy, together with the reporting requirements and tools.
- Identifies improvements and institutes enhancements incorporating industry best practices.
- Supports all aspects of estimate development of major capital projects in accordance with project technical objectives, Project Execution Plan (PEP) and WBS by contractors and Lucid staff including direct and indirect costs, budgets, and allocations.
- Oversees development and maintenance of consolidated master schedule for major capital projects and programs including coordination and collaboration with various project teams and provides technical content to support Plan of Record documents.
- Develops project controls forecasting based on analysis of trends, cost and schedule performance and variances and communicates budget and forecast exposures.
- Responsible for cost and schedule analysis of change requests and supports change management processes through identification of potential project impacts, risks, and trends.
- Interfaces routinely with leadership and project teams to promote effective utilization of project control function and resolve challenges.
- Provides project controls support during the full program lifecycle and support the development of timing and budgets for new projects.
- Trains and mentors project teams and stakeholders to ensure consistent application of project controls processes.
- Provides assurance reviews and analysis of project controls functions for major capital projects or programs.
- · Support database for benchmarking factory and equipment project metrics (schedules, costs, etc.)
You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or construction management.
- Minimum 5 years broad project controls experience working capital projects in related industry with increasingly responsible roles required.
- Able to apply methods of estimating that conform to industry standards of practice.
- Able to build schedules with detailed tasks, dependencies, resources, milestone dates. Identifies variances between planned and actual achievements, make appropriate recommendations to solve problems.
- Able to work with colleagues to identify and assess of commercial impact of technical and business risks on project outcomes.
- Able to forecast project performance against requirements and targets and recommend corrective actions.
- Highly collaborative; comfortable working with people in a matrixed environment
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Competency in Microsoft applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Expert in MS project required, highly preferred competency in using Primavera
- Ability to foster and support a culture of diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and teamwork; able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues across all departments
