ABOUT THIS ROLE
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work with developers, designers, product managers, compliance teams, and operational staff to play a critical role in the development of Apex's next generation multi-tenant cloud native wealth management platform serving correspondent firms and their end investors. You will be working on significant critical projects and will take responsibility for all facets of the development process—from early discovery and architectural design through testing and scaling in production. You will support and mentor other team members to improve platform security, multi-tenancy patterns, and development velocity.We are looking for someone who is eager to dive into a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment to build innovative, compliant financial products. Our ideal candidate has a strong sense of ownership, proactively identifies edge cases and constraints before building, balances architectural exploration with disciplined execution, and takes full ownership of system reliability and security. You are an individual contributor who moves fast while making your thinking visible through documentation and enjoys driving complex platform initiatives from discovery through production deployment.
Duties/Responsibilities
· Lead the design and development of secure, scalable multi-tenant systems for wealth management platform serving firms and millions of end investors. Architect and implement robust backend services in Go, GraphQL BFF layers, and cloud-native infrastructure.
· Proactively identify edge cases, regulatory constraints, and failure modes during the design phase. Architect high-volume, scalable workflows and design multi-tenant systems with strong isolation and per-tenant configuration capabilities.
· Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers on complex workflows, platform security, multi-tenancy patterns, and compliance-aware development.
· Design systems that meet SEC, FINRA, and SOC 2 compliance requirements through built-in guardrails, auditability, and data retention policies.
· Work effectively with cross-functional teams including product management, compliance, customer integration teams, and executive stakeholders.
· Champion coding standards, thorough code reviews, and development best practices. Drive continuous improvement in platform architecture based on production patterns, operational data, and evolving compliance requirements.
· Own system reliability, implementing comprehensive monitoring and observability, designing robust error handling and validation, and ensuring SLOs
are met for critical services.
