About the role

The C.H. Sandage School of Business at Graceland University is seeking a dynamic and experienced faculty member to join our MBA program. This is a new full-time, 9-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Business Administration position to begin in August 2025.

The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Business Administration. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. and industry experience in Business and entrepreneurship.

The C.H. Sandage School of Business seeks candidates with a record of teaching and service that highlights the school’s three curricular foundations: Global, Ethical, and Entrepreneurial. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching graduate-level courses, as well as undergraduate courses. Teaching responsibilities include a 4/4 teaching load consisting of a wide range of MBA and undergraduate business courses. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about fostering a rigorous and engaging academic environment while also contributing to the continuous development of our growing MBA program. In addition to teaching responsibilities, the faculty member will be expected to conduct research in their field of expertise, publish scholarly work, and actively participate in curriculum innovation to ensure the program stays aligned with industry trends and the evolving needs of students.

Beyond the classroom, the MBA faculty member will play a vital role in mentoring and advising students on their academic and professional journeys. This position also offers opportunities to collaborate on interdisciplinary research projects and support various growth initiatives within the C.H. Sandage School of Business, including launching new business ventures and contributing to program expansion. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a dedicated educator, and a researcher with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success.

The key job responsibilities include:

  1. Teaching: Design and deliver courses related to business in both the undergraduate and MBA programs. Moreover, create course materials, develop syllabi, hold office hours, and deliver lectures to undergraduate students. Review and revise course content to ensure it remains relevant and aligned with industry trends, academic standards, and ethical practices. Collaborate with other faculty on program assessments.
  2. Service: Serve as academic advisor and mentor to students. Help students choose courses, provide guidance on career paths, and support academic and personal development. Additionally, participate in departmental and university committees.
  3. Professional Development: Stay current in the professional field and engage in ongoing professional development. This may involve attending conferences, workshops, seminars, and more. Other examples may include: Engaging with professionals in the business industry to foster partnerships, internships, and job opportunities for the students, conducting research projects and supervising student research, and engaging with the broader community by providing business education, consulting for businesses, or participating in outreach programs related to business.
