What's exciting about the role

As Finance Director, you are  the end-to-end owner of the finance function  of Verifone Payments GMBH (previously Intercard AG)

Reporting functionally to one of the VPGMBH Managing Directors and administratively to the Chief Financial Officer – Financial Services, as the Finance Director you act as the key finance sparring partner for the Management Board of the entity and the various internal and external stakeholders surrounding this payments entity.

While most finance and operations activities are outsourced to the Verifone organization, your role will be to manage these relationships to ensure deliverables are met according to the Service Level Agreement ensuring VPGMBH to run controlled operations and to be compliant with and in control.

Together with your extended team, you are primarily responsible for internal cash & liquidity management and the regulatory requirements in this area and serve as the main contact and interface for internal functions such as Group Treasury, Legal, Compliance, Risk or external auditors, auditors and other stakeholders

What you will do:

  • Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB (local GAAP)
  • Functional management of an intercompany accounting team (accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets accounting, accruals/deferrals)
  • Cost accounting management per profitability targets (scheme costs, 3rd party costs) in partnership with the various FP&A Teams
  • Management of the general audit of annual financial statements and the tax audit
  • Preparation of tax returns (CIT, business tax, VAT)
  • Liquidity/cash flow planning, management and control
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory (finance) requirements e.g. with regards to reporting and maintaining proper liquidity & solvency levels
  • Financial planning and forecasting (annual, multi-year), budgeting and market benchmarking in partnership with the EMEA & Financial Services FP&A Team
  • Monitoring & controlling activities ensuring sound ethical business operations Support major deals through profitability assessment & margin analysis Accountable for regulatory Reporting to the Deutsche Bundesbank (finance requirements) and Internal Reporting
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with banks, auditors, regulators, and other key stakeholders

 

Skills and Experience we desire

  • Academic degree in business administration or equivalent with a major in business or economics
  • 5+ years professional experience in payment transactions, cash and liquidity management (finance & controlling) with a financial services provider, bank, auditing or consulting company)
  • Experience in the implementation of regulatory requirements (BaFin & BuBa according to ZAG or KWG)
  • Strong (regulatory) accounting & reporting knowledge
  • Experience in leading a team and working in international organizations
  • ideally with previous experience in managing outsourced finance constructions
  • communicative person who enjoys dealing with internal departments and external customers
  • Reliability and service orientation are a matter of course for you
  • Extensive experience in setting up frameworks that create measurable business objectives (KPIs) supporting management decisions
  • Fluent German and English (written and spoken)
