Job Description Summary

Penn Dental Medicine’s Assistant Supervisor for Clinic Distribution Services provides support in the oversight of duties and responsibilities of dispensary staff in clinic practices. The Assistant Supervisor will report to the Supervisor of Clinic Distribution Services and will collaborate closely with the Director of Clinical Affairs and supervisors of the Instrument Management & Sterilization unit.

Job Description

The Assistant Supervisor for Clinic Distribution Services provides support in the oversight of duties and responsibilities of dispensary staff in clinic practices. Responsibilities include:

  • Ensures the dispensing, collection, sterilization, and inventory of tools and equipment utilized in the clinics is performed safely, efficiently, accurately, within compliance, and professionally.

  • Monitors coverage and support of clinic dispensaries with the ability to pivot and step in as a distribution clerk to ensure sufficient coverage and seamless operations for patient care.

  • Serves as shift supervisor as assigned; including, but not limited to: troubleshooting issues which may arise; support in the development and coordination of work schedules and shift assignments; provide daily assessments of team/tasks; communicating any work concerns during each shift accordingly.

  • Provides continuous training and support to new hires as well as current team members.

  • In collaboration, with Supervisors of Clinic Distribution Services and Instrument Management & Sterilization supports in the development of team building and employee engagement/recognition initiatives for the department.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
