Job Description

Eurofins Environment Testing Northern California, LLC is searching for a Courier/Driver for the lab in the Sacramento, CA area

• The Courier/Driver spends 2-3 days a week driving and interacting with clients or worksite staff
• Travel to client sites within 200 miles of Sacramento area, collect and return to worksite in the Sacramento area.
• Pick up and deliver samples at FedEx location
• Pack, unpack, and receive samples if needed
• Create and present detailed reports of daily activities
• Report any irregular findings to management
• Drive safely and courteously at all times
• Ensure vehicle is well kept mechanically, keep logs of maintenance, report issues to supervisor, keep vehicle clean

Qualifications

• Experienced in shipping, receiving, and/or warehousing
• Valid Driver’s License
• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in a similar role
• Outstanding client service skills
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
• Willingness to work on different tasks if needed at the lab when driving or pickups are not required
• Flexibility to change routes or assignments when plans change due to business need
• Ability to adherence to safety protocol  
• Good teamwork, working closely with all the departments  
• Effective problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work long hours seating or standing

Ability and/or Skills

Adherence to safety protocol and operation procedures; communicate well with coworkers and management; read, understand and comply with SOPs;  ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis, stand for prolonged periods; work upright, bend and use hands and arms repetitively to perform moderate physical work duties; the ability to push carts with objects on board weighing up to 50 pounds; hearing and speaking are needed to listen effectively and talk with individuals in person or on the phone.

Hazardous Material Handling

The Eurofins Environment Testing Northern California laboratory houses chemicals necessary for the analysis of various environmental samples. These chemicals can be harmful if not properly handled. The list includes but is not limited to; cryogenic Dewars of liquid nitrogen, compressed gasses including helium, nitrogen and hydrogen, sharps and liquid solvents such as methylene chloride, acetonitrile and acetone.  This position requires the ability to safely handle and transport these bulk chemicals. The employee will be required to read and reference the Chemical Hygiene Plan and Injury and Illness Prevention Program for additional information and instruction. 

Additional Information

Candidates within commutable distance of Sacramento, CA are eligible to apply. This role will be a full-time role, first shift (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) Monday - Friday with overtime as needed.

Compensation Range: $21 - $23 per hour and is eligible for over time pay.
