SPECIAL NOTES:
This is an internal agency employment opportunity for current employees, including OPS, of the Department of Financial Services, the Office of Financial Regulation, and the Office of Insurance Regulation.
Four (4) or more years of supervisory and/or managerial experience is required. A bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university can substitute for the required work experience.
Additional Requirements:
- Licensed to operate a motor vehicle.
- This position requires the supervisor to spend approximately 30% of time worked in the field.
Preferences:
- Bilingual with the ability to fluently speak and write Spanish and English.
- Five (5) years or more of regulatory and/or investigative experience.
- One (1) or more years of experience with time and personnel management skills, oral/written communication and presentation skills.
This position requires a security background check, including fingerprint as a condition of employment.
Employees of the Department of Financial Services are paid on a monthly pay cycle.

Minimum Qualifications for this position include the following REQUIRED ENTRY LEVEL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of and skill in utilizing investigative techniques; statutory coverage requirements of the Workers’ Compensation Act (Chapter 440, Florida Statutes); ability to apply supervisor principles and practices. Ability to make and defend decisions regarding enforcement actions; to conduct fact-finding interviews and take statements; to evaluate and document performance of staff; to use deductive reasoning; to determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion of work assignments; to analyze information and determine its validity; to prepare and conduct training programs; to prepare reports; to make independent decisions; to maintain strict confidentiality; to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing; to safely operate a motor vehicle, as evidenced by a valid drivers’ license; to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures; to supervise people; to prioritize work load; to develop various reports; to assess budgetary needs; to collect, analyze and interpret data; to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to communicate effectively; to plan, organize and direct program activities. Skill in the review and analysis of written correspondence.
OTHER KSAs (Incumbent may learn on job):
- Knowledge of the principles of insurance and risk management
- Skill in the utilization of the Coverage and Compliance Automated System (CCAS) and other relevant databases and applications.
