We are hiring R&D Scientist Intern- Bioproduction. The R&D Scientist Intern- Bioproduction will provides R&D support for proof of principle and discovery projects by conducting laboratory research under the guidance of a supervisor.

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Plan and Execute Experiments: Design and conduct mammalian cell culturing experiments, including aseptic techniques, cell thawing, expansion, and cryopreservation.
- Media Optimization: Prepare various custom culture media and assess their impact on Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cell growth, viability, and productivity.
- Analytical Assays: Perform biological and analytical assays to monitor cell health and product quantity and quality, including metabolite analysis
- Data Analysis: Analyze, interpret, and perform statistical analysis on experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions.
- Documentation & Compliance: Adhere strictly to Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) by maintaining accurate, detailed records.
- Collaboration & Communication: Actively participate in, and present progress at, team, group, and project meetings.
- Technical Development: Stay updated on industry trends by reading technical publications and literature to improve experimental design.
- Learning Objectives
- Gain hands-on experience in bench-scale CHO cell culture and media screening methodologies.
- Learn to measure cell culture productivity and protein titers using relevant analytical assays.
- Develop proficiency in analyzing production performance data and correlating titer, growth, and metabolic trends.
- Understand the principles of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) in an industrial biotechnology setting.
- Enhance skills in scientific writing, data presentation, and critical thinking.
- Deliverables
- Executed Experiments: Completed bench-scale, shaker flask experiments evaluating media formulations.
- Data Analysis Report: A comprehensive report summarizing the impact of tested media on CHO cell performance (growth, viability, titer).
- Final Presentation: A PowerPoint presentation or poster detailing the project's methodologies, results, and recommendations.
- Lab Notebook: Completed, reviewed, and authorized documentation of all laboratory work
Requirements:
- Students pursuing a graduate degree (Masters, Ph.D) in Basic or Applied Life Sciences and a returning student after the summer.
- Minimum 1 year of relevant lab experience.
- Experience with and understanding of suspension mammalian cell culturing.
- General lab safety knowledge.
- Ability to effectively learn and acquire new knowledge and skills
- Problem solving capabilities to accomplish tasks.
- Experience with CHO and antibody titer measurement techniques is a big plus.
Ability to use professional concepts to perform assigned work and solve complex problems
Ability to demonstrate potential for technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others
