About the role

Kln Forklift Operator must be experienced with a good safety and attendance record. The kiln forklift operators will transfer lumber between various plant operations, storage sheds and comply with applicable safety regulations and production expectations around the drying process.

What you need to be successful:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Must have:
    • excellent safety record
    • excellent attendance record
    • good interpersonal skills
    • good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be willing to perform all job assignments in an effective and timely manner with minimal supervision
  • Must have forklift drivers or heavy equipment loader experience to qualify
  • Ability to:
    • work in hot, cold, dusty and noisy industrial environment
    • bend, twist, lift, climb, stand throughout the duration of the shift
    • to work rotating shift, holidays and weekends 
  • Lace up safety toed boots with 6" uppers are required
  • Must successfully complete assessment tests, a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical

What you will do:

  • Complete equipment checks and perform preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Transfer lumber between various plant operations and comply with applicable safety regulations.
  • Learn and develop Kiln drying skillsets to support production
  • Perform the following key phases of Basic Care:    
    • Inspection of equipment
    • Service and minor adjustments to the equipment (when necessary)
    • Cleaning of the equipment
    • Documentation and reporting of results
