This position will focus on these key areas:

• Collaborate closely with our partners on key negotiations, strategies, and technology enhancements to continue driving Amex GBT’s strategy in support of the company values for our customers, travelers, and employees.

• Engage across a variety of categories and verticals, with a heavy focus on AI, Software, Infrastructure, SaaS, and Information Security

• Analyze, validate, and align with business partners on opportunities to ensure competitive rates across our vendor program

• Recommend strategic opportunities to evolve capabilities and functions in an effort to deliver savings to the organization and additional value both internally and externally

• Consider Amex GBT’s Environmental, Social, and Governance programs in all vendor discussions and negotiations, e.g.,

• Purchase with purpose by empowering our vendor relationship managers with ESG sourcing information to support Amex GBT’s goals in diversity and sustainability across the organization.

• Exercise ethical sourcing practices by embedding ESG into each sourcing decision, strategic requirements, and vendor selections, supporting progress towards our Strategic Sourcing Targets in relation to Amex GBT policies, Supplier Diversity, and customer data platforms and science-based target initiatives.

What You’ll Do

• Manage commercial and strategic discussions with partners and vendors through prioritization, thoughtful negotiations, and ongoing performance management with vendors and partners

• Collaborate throughout Amex GBT to developing and implementing new strategies to evolve and expand our sourcing strategies across the various business groups

• Effectively understand and work with each business functions on their requirements, budgets, and opportunities to align on key principles and complete priorities to drive customer value and improve Amex GBT’s EBITDA

• Communicate as appropriate with senior leaders on key initiatives, metrics, commercials, performance, and strategies.

• Enhance the value story of Strategic Sourcing through effective documentation and tracking of savings, cost avoidance, and / or revenue opportunities.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 3-years prior experience supporting strategic sourcing principles including, procurement, negotiations (client or vendor), contracting, purchasing, or the equivalent

• Strong and proven commercial and financial skill with a focus on partnership and negotiations

• Strategic orientation, change management and thought leadership

• Confidence in leading and communicating across the organization and in challenging scenarios

• Consistent track record of owning and getting results through personal accountability, organization, and self-managed prioritization

• Excellent relationship management and collaboration skills across various areas of the business

• Ability to influence across functions, get results, and optimize opportunities to support financial benefit to the organization

• MBA or equivalent experience preferred

Location

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $70,000 to $140,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
