Senior Director, Facilities Management

Why Your Role Matters 

The Senior Director of Facilities Management provides strategic and operational leadership across all Greater Austin YMCA centers and properties. This role bridges organizational strategy and site-level execution, overseeing facility operations, maintenance, safety, and improvements to ensure every YMCA environment is safe, welcoming, and sustainable. In partnership with the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) and senior leadership, the Senior Director drives long-term planning, directs multi-site facility teams, and manages projects that enhance member experience and operational efficiency. This leader fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement, aligning facility excellence with the mission and strategic goals of the Greater Austin YMCA.  

 

The starting salary is $95,000, commensurate with your experience and skills.

• Lead, coach, and develop Technicians, team members, and key maintenance leaders, cultivating a culture of accountability, safety, and service excellence.

• Implement a goal-based leadership approach to ensure department goals align with organizational objectives.

Leadership & Strategic Alignment 

• Collaborate with the CFAO and senior leaders to support the execution of a long-term facilities vision that ensures exceptional, consistent, and sustainable spaces across all centers. 

• Manage a matrixed structure of facility and maintenance operations, ensuring alignment with association-wide strategies and standards. 

• Lead the Facilities Impact Team to promote consistency in standards, communication, and performance expectations. 

• Partner with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Risk, Marketing, and Finance, to uphold facility standards that promote brand consistency, operational efficiency, and a high-quality member experience. 

• Coordinate with the CFAO and Facility & Growth Committee on property maintenance, improvement priorities and market growth opportunities. 

• Lead the implementation of sustainable practices that reduce operational costs and environmental impact. 

 

Operational Excellence & Maintenance Leadership 

• Ensure all facilities, equipment, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards of safety, functionality, and appearance. 

• Oversee the execution and performance of association-wide contracts (e.g., janitorial, HVAC, lawn care, aquatics equipment). 

• Ensure timely and efficient response to maintenance requests and emergencies through the online ticketing system. 

• Monitor and report on maintenance performance metrics, identifying trends and areas for operational improvement. 

• Maintain compliance with OSHA, ADA, and other regulatory requirements, partnering with the Risk team to manage audits, inspection
