Job Description
The Security Awareness Training Director is responsible for creating, maintaining, and leading our global information security training and awareness program.
As a strategic leader with expertise in information security and a passion for educating and fostering awareness, the Information Security Training Awareness Director is responsible for developing and overseeing programs that help our people understand security threats and how to defend against them. This role is essential towards reducing risk to our organization by ensuring all employees, staff, and contractors know, understand, and follow our security requirements and behave in a secure manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with information security leadership to define awareness program strategy. This includes identifying the top human threats to our organization, the behaviors needed to mitigate those threats, and the cybersecurity communication and education initiatives to encourage that encourage risk awareness and cyber judgement.
Develop and maintain a security awareness program that effectively fosters the development of a Security First culture, promotes desired security behaviors, and encourages long term, sustainable change.
Create and implement a strategy for ongoing staff training that includes induction of new staff and ongoing training for existing staff.
Lead a team of information security awareness professionals. Provide them with direction, set performance expectations, and support their professional development.
Establish credibility and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and partners (e.g., HR, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management) to understand enterprise objectives, initiatives, and issues related to the training and awareness activities and to ensure that the program is consistent with Experian’s policies and guidelines.
Oversee and manage all aspects of the program. This includes e-learning development and administration, phishing simulations, in-person events and trainings, and creation and management of all supporting awareness content across all platforms.
Oversee and set direction for a Security Champions program that includes learning and participation tracks for both non-technical and technical staff.
Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of the programs, making improvements, as necessary.
Develop metrics and reporting strategies to track the effectiveness of the program.
Stay current with the latest security threats and trends and incorporate this information into training materials and awareness campaigns.
Collaborate with security teams to identify the top human risks to the organization and help define training and awareness mitigation strategies for those risks.
Ensure that Experian’s security training and awareness program meets all industry regulations, standards, and compliance requirements.
Qualifications
Qualified applicants will meet the minimum requirements as stated below:
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing or relevant field or equivalent demonstrable experience.
8-10 years of experience in security awareness and training or similar background.
Demonstrable knowledge of information security best practices and awareness topics.
Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and design skills with demonstrable competence and experience in clearly explaining complex information security concepts and technologies for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Practical knowledge of various learning styles and a variety of awareness techniques.
Well-developed experience with the process of eLearning design and development is a must.
Strong ability to work with minimum direction and high drive for results.
Excellent collaboration, relationship, and interpersonal skills.
Design experience and familiarity with design programs a plus.
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP), PMP, CISSP, CISA, or other industry certifications will be considered a plus
