This role reports ON-SITE at our West Hollywood office.

The Pipeline Technical Director will be part of a specialized technical team charged with restructuring and organizing our asset pipeline and creating an asset management system over a period of 6 months. The Pipeline TD will help create GUI interfaces, various scripts and automation tools inside and outside of Maya, as well as troubleshoot and find solutions to a variety of technical problems.

Responsibilities:

• Setting up Ftrack and developing production tools for the needs of the show
• Overall development of tools within maya and standalone that can integrate with tracking software in Ftrack
• Developing GUI interfaces using Java script with in Ftrack
• Create scripts to clean out assets during ingestion
• Import and export scripts to transfer assets to other studios
• Automation of naming and repathing of models
• Ability to Create workflows for different departments within the pipeline.
• Work closely with Production Supervisors, CG Supervisors, and IT to maintain and further enhance the production pipeline
• A familiarity with working with video clips and the integration into production tracking software
• Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field
• Working with overseas studios to increase productivity with internal studio

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in the relevant field
  
• Understanding of tracking CG assets and the many tasks
• Database knowledge and asset management software such as Ftrack or other
• Practical industry experience required
• Excellent working knowledge of a Maya CG animation pipeline
• Extensive familiarity with Redshift and Deadline
• Python, Java Script and mel
• Experience with PySide/PyQt
• Ability to create tools inside and outside of Maya
• A high technical aptitude
• Superb interpersonal and leadership skills
• Has general IT knowledge and will collaborate closely with our internal IT team
• Ability to stay on schedule
