We are looking for a Software Engineer Lead to come and work on our growing AI stack. You will be working with a team of highly skilled AI Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers. Must-Have:

• Experience in design, development and deployment of backend software and data ingestion pipelines using RESTFUL APIs, up through implementation inside AWS cloud
• Containerizing systems to develop microservices architecture to support high availability and scalability
• Working knowledge of observability and testing of production systems
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python or Golang
• Ability to analyze a wide variety of data to drive system designs and product implementations
• Manage your own process: identify and execute on high impact projects, triage external requests, working with cross-functional corporate teams in engineering and product management to bring projects to conclusion in time for the results to be useful
• M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related with 3 years of experience as a Software Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or other relevant technical field
• 2+ years experience designing interactive prototypes of data ingestion pipelines; automating ingestion of large datasets using DB systems management; working with cross functional
• You are a team player

Nice-to-Have:

• Exposure to probability and statistics, and machine learning, including experimental design, predictive modeling, optimization, and causal inference. Solid understanding of machine learning fundamentals, and familiar with standard algorithms and techniques
• Working knowledge of golang, and tools in the golang ecosystem (such as Temporal, Cadence)
• Working knowledge of different type of databases such as Postgres, ElasticSearch, and S3
• Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills; communicate proposals and results in a clear manner backed by data and coupled with actionable conclusions to drive business decisions

AppZen is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The base pay range for this role is $165,000 to $190,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.
The total compensation package for this position may also include annual performance bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable incentive compensation plans.
