JOB DESCRIPTION: 

 

Kraft Heinz is seeking an experienced Analytical Sciences manager to lead technical/scientific professors and team leaders of Manufacturing Analytical, Rheology & Food Physics and Separations Sciences at our Glenview, IL innovation center. The position requires technical know-how emphasizing cross-functional problem solving with Research and Development (R&D), Quality, Operations and Manufacturing personnel to perform chemical and physical analyses of food products, ingredients and packaging materials to identify, measure and characterize chemical species and physical properties relevant to food functionality, performance and quality.  This is an ideal opportunity for candidates who enjoys integrating laboratory findings into cohesive explanations of what is happening at the molecular level and translating into business impact to delight consumers. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Manage team of 14 people with advanced degrees and as asume responsibility on organizational agility, people development for growth, staffing and resourcing 

  • Lead development, implementation and strategies for analytical testing to support product development, manufacturing, quality and regulatory compliance. 

  • Master of marshalling resources & allocation, planning budgets & CAPEX, setting and negotiating priorities & objectives to ensure timely completion of business deliverables. 

  • Agile at influencing R&D, Quality, Operations & Manufacturing cross-functional teams & making recommendations to cross functional teams while communicating in non-technical language. 

  • Accountable for managing external contract lab testing and technical oversight of data interpretation & measurement science applications. 

  • Established history to activate external networks addressing all project dimensions & ensure success with career-long learning & implementing novel & emerging measurement technologies. 

  • Connections with FDA & CFIA on evolving regulations & labeling changes with demonstrated foresight to guide business teams through reformulations, allergen concerns & CODEX standards. 

  • Demonstrated ability to technically mentor a multi-discipline team of Analytical scientists with diverse skills and experience to raise their technical expertise. 

  • Deep chemistry knowledge to identify, define, and layout approaches to solve complex technical business problems with command of all internal and external chemistry lab capabilities. 

  • Wide-ranging experience with complex analytical instrumentation used in Manufacturing Analytical, Rheology & Food Physics & Separation Sciences with an aptitude for applications & maintenance/repair for urgent business needs. 

  • Track record of using advanced chemistry knowledge involving Maillard reaction chemistry
