The Opportunity
We are seeking a Clinical Software Engineer II to join our Clinical Solutions team on-site in Sylmar, CA for Abbott Medical Devices. This new team member will perform professional level project activities for software systems designed to store and manage data for clinical studies. Assignments may include but are not limited to, architecting, designing and developing web-based applications, creating data models, conducting code review, and reviewing/writing of requirements and technical documentation.
What You’ll Work On
- Design and develop innovative solutions to support business processes in the execution of Clinical Trials
- Integrate software with enterprise level systems.
- Maintain and support current/legacy applications, enhancing functionalities, and creating ad-hoc queries/reports.
- Draw inferences from data and distinguish trends in data.
- Writes, updates, and maintains requirement and application specifications.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software engineering, computer, science or a related engineering field.
- Minimum 3 years work experience in a range of software engineering disciplines using a variety of programming methods.
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.
- Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Solid understanding of web design and development principles
- Fundamentals of database architecting/modeling/design
- 1 year of experience in API architecture, design, and development
- Experience using cloud infrastructures such as Azure
- Experience working in Agile Environment
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React
- Familiarity with machine learning/AI applied to business problems
- Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model
