A Sales Estimator for Division 10 and Specialties is primarily responsible for working with engineers’ and architects’ drawings or blueprints to prepare a complete list of all job costs, including labor, material, equipment, and specialty items necessary to complete the project. You will play a key role in the sales process by preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for specialty construction materials, furnishings, and equipment. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze project specifications, blueprints, and client requirements to develop detailed estimates that align with company pricing strategies and profitability goals. This role requires a thorough understanding of Division 10 (Bathroom Partitions & Grab Rails) and Division 12 (Blinds) construction materials, vendors, pricing structures, and market trends.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Accurately estimating project costs and analyzing materials, equipment, and labor requirements to prepare detailed cost estimates for bids and proposals.
- Collaborate with the sales team, project managers, and other stakeholders to create customized solutions for clients.
- Ensure proposals are submitted in a timely manner and in accordance with client specifications and deadlines.
- Clearly articulate the scope of work, pricing breakdowns, and value propositions in proposals to win new business.
- Communicate effectively with vendors to obtain product information, lead times, availability, and technical specifications.
- Participate in customer entertainment activities.
- Follow up with clients after proposal submissions to gather feedback and refine future estimates.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements / Experience:
- At least 2-3 year’s experience in the trade.
- Strong work ethic with ability to multi-task and focus.
- Detail driven with an accounting mindset – “Know your costs”.
- Excellent organizational skills – sequences and order.
- Computer and technology savvy.
