Our location in Sylmar, CA currently has an opportunity for a Product Development Engineer, Cardiac Medical Devices.
We are seeking a high-caliber Electrical Engineer II. This role develops and executes tests to assess MRI safety of cardiac electronic implantable products. We are looking for a detail-oriented engineer to apply engineering and scientific principles to the evaluation and solutions for technical problems.
**No previous experience in MRI is required for the role, but you should have a desire to learn about MRI.**
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Develop, design, and evaluate active implantable medical devices and/or test methods for MRI safety.
Operate lab equipment such as temperature probes, E-field probe, SAR probe, H-field probe, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, RF amplifiers, ohm meters, current probes.
Direct support personnel and coordinate project activities.
Write Engineering Test Reports (ETR), validation protocols and reports, memos, Engineering Change Papers, create travelers
Perform mathematical calculations such as sample size determination, standard deviations, linear regressions/fitting techniques, and probabilities.
Maintain detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
Resolve and/or facilitate the resolution of complex technical problems including identifying root causes to prevent re-occurrence.
Validate equipment and process as required.
Evaluate measurement and model uncertainty to develop uncertainty budgets.
Establish and cultivate an extensive cross-functional network of support to facilitate completion of assignments.
Plan and organize non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments.
Exercise sound judgment in selecting innovative, practical methods to achieve problem resolution.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING
Required
Bachelors Degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
2-5 years’ experience in related work experience.
Strong ability to work effectively within a cross-functional product development team.
Strong written communication skills with ability to work within a quality management system utilizing design controls.
