Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities

• Assist anesthesiologists in the surgical and clinical care setting with routine to complex procedures before, during and after anesthesia

• Prepare and calibrate equipment and verify proper working order of equipment prior to procedures

• Perform complex troubleshooting of anesthesia equipment and ensures daily adequate supply of reserve oxygen, air and nitrous oxide

• Prepare and set up IV solution/lines

• Assist anesthesiologists with procedures by passing supplies, instruments, lines and assist with intubation and insertion of invasive monitoring lines

• Meet with sales representatives from medical supply vendors

• Order anesthesia supplies and equipment and ensure all anesthesia areas are well-stocked

• Assist with orientation of monthly anesthesia residents and fellows to the department

Required Skills/Abilities

• High school graduate or equivalent required

• Requires knowledge of basic anatomy, biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and surgical instrumentation

• Knowledge of principles of asepsis and sterile technique with basic operating room technique and standards

• Pediatric experience required

• One year of experience

• BLS Certification
