How will you make an impact in this role?

The Cyber Engineering team at American Express is seeking a dynamic engineer for the role of UI/UX developer within the Technology Risk and Information Security organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop advanced UI/UX capabilities involving emerging technologies to address the evolving Cyber Threat landscape.Ā 

Join the Cyber Engineering team at American Express as a UI/UX Developer in the Technology Risk and Information Security organization. As a key member of this team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop cutting-edge UI/UX capabilities utilizing emerging technologies, including Generative AI, to stay ahead of the evolving cyber threat landscape and protect American Express's digital assets.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the team to analyze user stories, develop responsive web applications, and deliver high-quality software products.
  • Conduct user research, interviews, and surveys to inform design decisions and create sitemaps, wireframes, and prototypes.
  • Write clean, efficient code, and unit tests, and participate in code reviews and testing in ongoing sprints.
  • Continuously refactor code to improve performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Drive a culture of innovation, challenge the status quo, and implement creative ideas to improve processes and products.
  • Work closely with product managers, back-end developers, and other front-end developers to deliver versatile solutions to complex web development challenges.
  • Manage your own time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
  • Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs to visualize and communicate design concepts.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging standards and best practices, and promote standard methodologies and consistent framework usage.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates or BS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent 5+ years of work experience)
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX development or a related field.
  • Portfolio showcasing your design and development work.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Typescript including React.
  • Familiarity with Tailwind CSS framework and CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less.
