About the Team/Role
The National Accounts Manager (NAM) is a field sales position which will work with a customer service account manager in a geographical territory to grow revenue for OTR. The NAM will be responsible for retaining the current book of business and growing this book of business by cross selling additional products to current customers and acquiring new customers. This growth is achieved by visiting new prospects and current customers face to face in an effort to learn their business, propose new solutions that can be provided by OTR, and ultimately close new business.
How you'll make an impact
Responsible for all assigned accounts which includes retention, care, and growth of current accounts to the expected level, and actively prospect cross-sell opportunities within the NAM base.
Will require an appropriate level of customer contact.
Analyze and qualify current customers for potential expanded and new revenue opportunities, increase spend volumes, and service types including understanding various competitors’ service offers.
Meet net new sales quota and retention quotas as detailed in the individual sales plan through cross-selling, account retention and account penetration.
Uncover any underlying business problems, trends and unique requirements for OTR services and understand the “critical to success” priorities for each customer through client interaction and discussions.
Will work closely with the new account sales representatives across all areas of the business as needed and when appropriate for the acquisition of new business and as accounts transition into the NAM portfolio for management.
Engage appropriate resources to provide customer solutions (SME’s, Technical, Customer Support, Credit, Finance, Implementation, Contracts etc.).
Actively participate in sales meetings. Ensure required weekly and monthly reports are completed accurately and on-time or as required by management.
Represent OTR at relevant trade shows or conferences as directed by manager. Maintain a detailed account update in the customer relationship management software.
Experience you'll bring
Must have strong knowledge of the OTR products including all corporate payments products, expense reporting, automated payments.
Has a deep level of understanding of competitors’ products and solutions.
5+ years successful sales experience preferred.
Computer skills required (Confluence, MS CRM, MS Office products including Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Possess solid oral and written communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
Must be detail oriented.
Must have the ability to understand financial components of open loop products and measurements.
An enthusiastic self-starter with good interpersonal skills.
Requires the consultative mind-set, solution oriented method of selling.
Communicates effectively by sharing ideas and information with other sales and customer service personnel. Uses customer feedback to monitor the status of service levels, identifies problems and revenue growth potential within the business core.
Ability to be coached, learn new products, take initiative, and a desire to be successful.
60-75% Expected Overnight Travel.
