Software Engineer II (Hybrid and Remote Eligibile)

As a Software Engineer II in our innovative team, you'll be at the forefront of advancing cyber security and big networking data sets leveraging the Java programming language and the Elastic Stack. As part of your role you will be responsible for collaborating seamlessly with front-end software engineers, QA testers, system administrators, and fellow Java Software engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and maintain software solutions using Java.
• Write clean and secure code to meet project requirements.
• Conduct code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize software applications
• Stay up-to-date with latest industry trends and technologies.

Must-haves:

• Bachelor's of Science degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related discipline and typically 2 or more years of relevant experience
• Proficiency in the Java Software Language and best practices
• Knowledge of engineering principles and practices
• Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams

Preferred:

• Understanding of other industry standard software languages such as HTML, Javascript, Python, and Bash
• Experience with software tools for requirements tracking, code reviews, static analysis, library and artifact repository, and automated build
• Knowledge of the Agile/Scrum software development methodology
• Experience working with Apache Spark and/or Apache Nifi
• Knowledge of Github Actions for continuous integration and deployment
• Experience with Maven for project management and build automation
• Familiarity with Docker for containerization
• Understanding of REST APIs and experience with the JAX-RS API
• Cyber Security Background
• Proficient with data structures

Estimated Starting Salary: 82,867.92 - 113,943.38 USD Annually
