United Health Services (UHS) is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Account Processor to join our Patient Financial Self Pay team. In this role, you'll manage complex patient accounts, perform account audits, resolve billing issues, and ensure accurate payment application. Your expertise will directly support patients navigating their financial responsibilities—making a difficult process clearer and more manageable.

Compensation Range:

$17.98 - $25.17 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

• Follow up on inpatient and outpatient accounts with third-party payers to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement.

• Research and obtain missing billing information by contacting patients, employers, and insurance providers.

• Prepare and process refunds for third-party payers and patients in compliance with organizational policies.

• Coordinate with outside vendors and collection agencies to resolve problematic accounts and recommend corrective actions.

• Review and evaluate account balances; make necessary adjustments, write-offs, or reclassifications.

• Respond promptly and professionally to patient inquiries, complaints, and correspondence related to self pay accounts.

• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to team leads or supervisors as appropriate.

• Maintain clear and accurate documentation on all account activity, including correspondence and actions taken.

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve billing discrepancies and contribute to overall revenue cycle goals.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 5 years experience in hospital third-party billing and related practice

• A thorough working knowledge of Patient Accounting billing practices Working knowledge of the financial software system.

Preferred:

• Formal education in Accounting, Bookkeeping, or related field.
