Ranked the highest-value point currency by top publications, Bilt Points can be transferred 1:1 to major airline and hotel programs, or used towards rent payments, shopping, fitness, and even a down payment on a home. Members also get access to credit-building benefits, member-only experiences, and an Elite Status program.

In partnership with the top multifamily owners & operators across the country, we’ve also created the Bilt Rewards Alliance, a network of 4M+ apartments and homes across the country. Residents who live in the Bilt Rewards Alliance make payments directly through the Bilt Payment Center and get access to benefits including additional earn opportunities on new leases, renewals, and more.

While Bilt Members can use any debit or credit card to earn points and access their benefits, Bilt has partnered with Mastercard and Wells Fargo to create the Bilt Mastercard® - the first and only credit card that lets you pay rent and earn points without the transaction fee.

What’s the role?

As a Product team member at Bilt, you’ll be instrumental in shaping what products we build and how our users interact with them. You’ll be reporting to our Head of Product and will take ownership of the development of the technology that drives our business. The Payments team is responsible for our infrastructure and payment rails that process over $1bn of monthly payments, ensuring reliable money movement between our members and partners. Our technology supports end-to-end payment operations, including integrations with payment gateways and processors, batch processing, reconciliation, invoicing, and financial reporting tools for our various partners across rent and mortgage payments, as well as rewards partners.

In this role, you will…

  • Work with our internal stakeholders to define product solutions that effectively achieve our business objectives and user experience goals
  • Define business and technical requirements to convey your ideas and communicate solutions to the Engineering team and beyond
  • Work with engineering to break down requirements into tasks, estimate effort, and plan sprints
  • Be a thought partner to both Product and Engineering teams, balancing product requirements with engineering scope
  • Collaborate with external partners to achieve effective and scalable technical integrations
  • Maintain the engineering backlog and prioritize work based on impact
  • Become an expert in our technology and ensure that anyone at the company can understand it
  • Supervise and measure launched products and feed insights back into the product development process
  • Identify and define future opportunities that leverage our technology and data

Who you are:

You’ve got great instincts for how to build software efficiently, scalably, and reliably. You have the ability to make high-level system architecture decisions but are also able to dive into the nitty-gritty to define and scope individual engineering tasks effectively. You’re a great technical writer because you know that any ambiguity in how you communicate can impede development. You can work fast and loose if needed—but you also understand when process and structure are necessary, and you’ve got ideas about implementing them.

In terms of qualifications, we’re seeking:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Product Manager; 7+ total years of experience in a technical role
  • A history of delivering highly successful and innovative products with your fingerprints all over them
  • Technical ability to advise and evaluate engineering decisions
  • Experience in a startup environment is preferred
  • Background in computer science preferred
  • Familiarity with payment operations is a plus (Batch Processing, Reconciliation, Ledgering, KYC, Treasury Management, Money Transmission, etc.)

Benefits:

  • Compensation - We offer a competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus program
  • Health insurance for you (& your loved ones) from day one - Enjoy a One Medical Membership, wellness stipends, family
