We’re searching for a Director of Ambulatory Services - Department of Surgery, someone who works well in a fast-paced setting. In this position, you'll plan, direct, and maintain activities that promote our mission and philosophy in Ambulatory Services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Directs departmental operations to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, age-appropriate care and/or service within a family-centered care environment as measured by patient satisfaction scores, patient complaints, performance improvement indicators, regulatory compliance and new programs/initiatives
  • Ensures the delivery of cost-effective care and/or service as measured by variance analysis reports, technical billing and professional billing, revenue enhancement/expense reduction, and billing documentation audit reports
  • Ensures the creation of a work climate that fosters physician and employee satisfaction and organizational commitment through regular interaction with service chiefs and clinic managers as measured by employee survey results and turnover rates
  • Develops and implements department priorities that enhance the organization's strategic plan and achieves agreed upon outcomes
  • Advances evidenced-based practice and patient safety as measured by outcomes, evidence incorporated into practice, and improvements in processes to enhance patient safety, performance improvement initiatives, efficiency and improved trends and benchmarks
  • Ensures the provision of effective training and development opportunities for staff and leaders to continually improve departmental and organizational performance and develop talent to ensure ongoing departmental success and growth as measured by improved individual, team, and departmental performance and a talent management plan
  • Leads, participates, and collaborates on interdepartmental teams, work groups and committees that support organizational priorities as measured by outcomes achieved

Skills & Requirements

  • Master’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or business administration required
  • 5 years of formal management experience in an ambulatory setting required
