About the role

Provides physical therapy treatment to all patients referred by a licensed physician. Is not able to perform initial evaluations. Works under the supervision of licensed Physical Therapists and the Clinical Therapy Manager.

1.Implements treatment programs to assigned patients, based on the treatment plan established by the physical therapist. Provides feedback to the physical therapist on a regular basis, indicating the patient's progress in treatment. Coordinates with other disciplines as needed.      

2.Assumes responsibility for all documentation requirements in a timely manner, including progress notes and discharge summaries.

3.Provides group sessions as indicated by the Therapy Manager.

4.Recommends appropriate durable medical equipment (DME) in coordination with the proper team members.              

5.Participates in discharge planning and makes recommendations to the physical therapist.         

6.Attends appropriate rounds, conferences inservices and meetings.          

7.Will be assigned additional patients in the event that coverage is required, as dictated by staffing needs.     

8.Maintains patient attendance statistical records as required.       

9.Participates in supervision of PTA students on clinical affiliations.       

10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Graduate of an accredited PTA curriculum. Associates degree necessary.

Compensation Statement

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides salary ranges that comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $38.45 - $44.28 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and operational need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
