What you will do:

We are seeking a temporary seasonal field assistant who will work under the direction of the Farm Manager. Specific expectations are as follows:

• Mowing lawn, trimming

• Turning on and setting up irrigation systems

• Maintaining high tunnels

• Equipment operation and hand labor

• Assisting in IPM activities, and if you have a pesticide license, pesticide spraying

Required Qualifications:

• Basic computer skills

• Punctual attendance is a must

• Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds

• Must be able to work diligently under varying weather conditions (e.g., rain, cold, heat)

• Excellent communication skills

• Possess excellent organizational skills

• Ability to pay attention to detail

• Must have general competence in performing manual labor

• Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position and have and maintain a valid and unrestricted New York State driver’s license

• Possess and demonstrate a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and work well within a small-team environment

This is a full-time, 39 hour per week, May 2025 through September 2025, located at Cornell University’s Campus Farms in Ithaca, NY. This is not a benefits eligible position.

Pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00 per hour.
