What you will do:
We are seeking a temporary seasonal field assistant who will work under the direction of the Farm Manager. Specific expectations are as follows:
Mowing lawn, trimming
Turning on and setting up irrigation systems
Maintaining high tunnels
Equipment operation and hand labor
Assisting in IPM activities, and if you have a pesticide license, pesticide spraying
Required Qualifications:
Basic computer skills
Punctual attendance is a must
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
Must be able to work diligently under varying weather conditions (e.g., rain, cold, heat)
Excellent communication skills
Possess excellent organizational skills
Ability to pay attention to detail
Must have general competence in performing manual labor
Must be able to meet the travel requirements of the position and have and maintain a valid and unrestricted New York State driver’s license
Possess and demonstrate a strong work ethic, be self-motivated, and work well within a small-team environment
This is a full-time, 39 hour per week, May 2025 through September 2025, located at Cornell University’s Campus Farms in Ithaca, NY. This is not a benefits eligible position.
Pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.00 per hour.
