About the Role
AGC Biologics is looking for an Intern to contribute towards improving a particular operational technology being utilized at our production site in Copenhagen. The candidate will be dedicated to solving and make a solid difference in critical parts of our process automation control systems towards, but not limited to, alarm management (define, create & configure) They will need to engage with Manufacturing and support in implementing solutions for the same. Of course, an initial assistance of the know-how, brief trainings will be provided to create a good foundation for further tasks. We collaborate with various stakeholders across our organization, including production, IT, MSAT, and QA, both locally and globally. About the Team and Department
You will be joining the Automation and OT systems team, in the Process Engineering department. The main purpose for Process engineering is to implement new equipment and systems into our production. The Automation and OT systems team are responsible for implementing and managing the system going into the production areas. We are a small team with different background working independently, with strong accountability and commitment.
Your Main Tasks
The Intern will have access and freedom to learn and contribute on many aspects of Operational Technology systems including but not limited to Distributed Control Systems and SCADA systems etc. which are all mostly used for Upstream and Downstream processes in Manufacturing. However, initial focus will be on alarm management software which has been procured from a leading software manufacturer connected with a large, distributed control system. An important contribution would be to first learn about the software and after that set up conventions that would decide the way alarms & events (process, system & safety) are configured, managed, and stored. This will be effectively done with close collaboration between Engineering and Manufacturing. Post this, the intern will implement these controls over diverse kinds of functionalities in the alarm management software.
In the final duration, mostly importantly the candidate will document these learnings in a SOP and technical documents etc. They will also analyze these results by applying this in a running production facility at AGC Biologics, Copenhagen. There will be an AGC personnel who will be the mentor and product responsible with whom the candidate shall maintain cadence with the progress and technical queries.
You will have complete ownership of defining, implementing, and helping with Process Engineering in many key aspects of different OT systems including some day-to-day tasks, troubleshooting etc. There will be ample opportunities to gain experience, implement, and document everything in SOPs and Technical documents as per Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
You have –
- Education in Computer Science, Electronics, pharma production, or a related field.
- A strategic mindset to ensure get the right solutions by coordinating with all stakeholders and ensuring timelines.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with a results-oriented and well-structured work approach.
- Written and spoken English is a must.

You have a keen sense of ownership and like to work in a team. We work on the targets & issues faced together, but you take full responsibility for the suite. Passionate towards working with pharmaceutical processes and OT computerized systems. An enthusiastic mindset to show interest, learn & also have fun while working towards this important aspect of Manufacturing.
