The Large Power Systems Division in Lafayette, IN currently has an opening for a Production Support Specialist. This role will be responsible for learning all distribution processes. They would be responsible for learning all equipment on site. They will be required to cover AWS schedule depending on controller absences.
Controllers are responsible for material availability for Assembly consumption. Ordering parts by doing line checks and using a scanner for ILC material. Perform rack maintenance, adding and deleting parts and setting up parts to be ordered manually or mechanically. Maintain bin tags and bin tracings. Maintain AMS accuracy by performing counts, processing material requisition cards and nonconformance material. Communicating potential material shortages to avoid production impact. Will be controlling inventory for area where needed according to business needs.
Machine shop would be responsible for material availability for Machine Shop Production processes. Ordering parts by following line checks as well as physical inventory checks. Perform rack maintenance, adding and deleting parts and setting up parts to be ordered manually or mechanically. Maintain bin tags and bin tracings. Maintain AMS accuracy by performing counts, processing material requisition cards and nonconformance material. Communicating potential material shortages to avoid production impact.
Must be willing to work outdoors in diverse weather conditions.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Candidate should have experience with EIMS, Visual Factory, and MESA systems.
Must be able to operate a fork truck, tow truck, and spotter truck.
Safe working habits and prior experience on fork truck is required.
Must communicate with other shifts, machine shop, assembly, dispatchers, truck drivers, distribution technicians in other areas, Supply Chain personnel, and management.
Gain a comprehensive understanding of all distribution team functions, including:
Dock operations
Outside distribution operations
Storage Controllers across all engine lines
Off site locations distribution
Building C distribution
Machine Shop distribution
Required training on equipment:
Reach truck
Sit down
Sid loader
Spotter
Large outside forklifts
Support AWS scheduling, ensuring proper coverage and adherence to timelines
Candidate will be required to stay in the position for 12 months with the exception of a promotion or nights-to-days move.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have at least 2 years of stand-up fork truck experience.
Must have good written and oral communication skills.
