Corewell Health Medical Group is seeking a BE/BC full-time physician to join their rapidly growing Surgical Optimization Center. Join a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary practice with a dedicated group of physicians and APPs, Pre-Admission Testing RN’s, Nurse Navigators, Tobacco Treatment Specialists, phlebotomy, and other clinical and clerical care team members.
Opportunity Overview
- Assessing medically complex and high-acuity patients prior to a procedure at any of our 13 Corewell Health West Facilities
- Review patient care plans with APPs, Pre-Admission Testing RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia team members
- In person and virtual visits
- Weekdays only / No Holidays
- Occasional on-call weekends for critical lab results only
- Potential for growth opportunities in many perioperative areas including blood management, smoking cessation, diabetes management, nutrition, and senior health
- Assesses and monitors the medical needs of patients/significant others.
- Provides quality medical services to patients in a cost effective, appropriate manner and ensures coverage of case load at all times.
- Provides input into the development of policies and procedures as they related to medical practice and quality patient care.
- Provides oversight of Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners and others providing delegated services to patients.
- Evaluates patients'/significant others'/staff educational needs and develops and implements appropriate teaching strategies or delegates to appropriate resources.
- Documents in a manner consistent with regulatory standards.
- Communicates with other members of the health care team in order to ensure continuity of care and coordination of services. Acts as a patient/family advocate.
- Participates in ongoing process improvement activities through the development/application of clinical paths, process improvement and other related activities.
Actively works with Spectrum Health to meet financial and patient satisfaction goals.
- Required Bachelor's Degree
- LIC-Physician (MD) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required Or
- LIC-Osteopathic Physician (DO) - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-DEA Registration - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association 120 Days required Or
- CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross 120 Days required
- CRT-Adv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - AHA American Heart Association If required by specialty or stress test performed 120 Days required
